ABOUT US

BCARE is a not-for-profit social service agency formed to serve the community, especially underprivileged and vulnerable groups.

We were established in 1996 and have been a member of the National Council of Social Service since 2002.

Today, we serve more than 1,000 clients each year, operating across 5 centres in the north-eastern region of Singapore.

To serve the community with commitment and compassion so as to enrich lives, inspire a positive outlook and build resilience in those we serve

OBJECTIVES

To provide community assistance to the poor and underprivileged; to those who are weak and neglected; and to those who are aged or sick

To promote and strengthen relationship between parents and children, spouses, teachers and pupils, peers and among inter-generational family members

To enrich the lives of individuals through engaging and meaningful activities

BCARE Senior Activity Centre renamed to BCARE Active Ageing Centre, supporting more seniors in Sengkang.

2024

Senior Connect @603 extended to a full-day programme from Mon to Fri.

2023

Bethesda Community Assistance & Relationship Enrichment Centre renamed as Bethesda CARE Centre (BCARE). 


Launch of CAN3, a youth mental health programme comprising a series of workshops and a drop-in centre.


Launch of Read to Exceed, a reading programme for young children to build a strong foundation in English literacy.

2022

FAME Club celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special event, graced by Mr Alex Yeo, Advisor of Aljunied GRC GRO (Paya Lebar).

2019

Opening of Senior Activity Centre at Blk 287A, Compassvale Crescent.


Launch of the Milk Powder Assistance programme for lower income families. In 2021, the programme was expanded to include provision of diapers.

2018

Celebration of 20th Anniversary. A publication documenting the organisation’s services was produced.


Launch of Traditional Chinese Medicine services at Bethesda CARE Centre Connection @574.

2016

Start of Line Dance classes at Bethesda CARE Centre Connection @574.

2012

Launch of Friendship And Mind Enrichment (FAME) Club to support persons with mental health conditions.

2009

Head office shifted to new premises at Blk 242, Hougang St 22.


Opening of Bethesda CARE Centre Connection Centre with gymnasium facilities at Blk 574, Hougang St 51.

2007

Opening of Arts and Culture Learning Centre at Blk 603, Hougang Ave 4.

2006

Opening of Joy Connection Student Care Centre at Blk 958, Hougang St 91.

2005

Founding of Bethesda Community Assistance & Relationship Enrichment Centre (Bethesda C.A.R.E. Centre), a voluntary welfare organisation with the purpose to express care for the community through social service and welfare assistance. 


Bethesda C.A.R.E. Centre is established by Living Sanctuary Brethren Church.


Services included counselling, job placement assistance, senior care, tuition and more.
