GENERAL
1. What is Stride for Good?
Stride for Good is a fundraising event organised by Bethesda CARE Centre (BCARE). Funds raised are to support BCARE’s work in the community such as assistance to children from low-income families, persons with mental health conditions (e.g. bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression) and seniors who are frail or isolated.
Stride for Good comprises both virtual and physical events.
Fundraisers will need to complete the virtual activity within the campaign period. They can also join the physical event.
2. When is Stride for Good happening?
Fundraisers
Fundraising date: 1 August 2024 to 30 November 2024
Activity: Walk or Jog 20 km OR Cycle 200 km
Venue: Anywhere and anytime within the fundraising period
Fundraisers are required to set up a campaign page tied to give.asia/sfg24
Physical Walk or Jog
Date: 12 October 2024
Distance: 3km or 6km
Venue: Living Sanctuary Brethren Church, Park Connector along Serangoon River
REGISTRATION
1. When is the registration period for Fundraisers and Physical Walk or Jog?
Fundraisers: 1 August 2024 to 30 November 2024
Physical Walk or Jog: 1 August to 30 September 2024

Register by 8 September, 2359 hrs to secure your preferred T-shirt size.
2. What is the age limit to participate in the event?
There is no age limit.
All participants aged 12 and below must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
All participants aged 16 years old and below must obtain signed consent from parent or guardian. Please fill in this consent form and email completed form to corpcomms@bcare.org.sg
3. Are there any registration fees?
There are no registration fees for Fundraisers.
For the Physical Walk or Jog Event:
Adult: $20
Child 7 to 12 years old: $10
Child aged 6 and below: Free
Please note that registration is required for all participants.
4. How do I know if my registration is successful?
You will receive an email confirmation to your registered email address upon successful registration.
5. I did not receive any registration email confirmation.
This could be due to:

Please email corpcomms@bcare.org.sg, with your registered name and mobile number, and we will get back to you within 3 working days.
6. Can I make changes to my T-shirt size after registration?
We will not be able to allow change of T-shirt size.
7. I’ve entered the wrong particulars during registration. How do I change it?
Please email corpcomms@bcare.org.sg with your registered name and mobile number, and we will get back to you within 3 working days.
FUNDRAISERS
1. What are the entitlements for Fundraisers?
You will receive a Stride for Good T-shirt.
2. How do I set up my campaign page?
Click here to access the starter kit which is a step-by-step guide on setting up your campaign page. Should you require further assistance, please email corpcomms@bcare.org.sg. We will get back to you within 3 working days.
3. How do I track my distance?
You can use any fitness tracker e.g. smartwatch, Strava app. Upload screenshots of your distance covered onto your campaign page. Please ensure that your screenshots do not contain any personal information.
4. What do I do after I have set up my campaign page?
a) You can share your fundraising efforts with your family and friends by sending them the link to your page.
Here is a suggested message template:
“Hello! I’ve joined BCARE’s Stride for Good to raise funds for their beneficiaries.
BCARE is a social service agency that supports children, youths, seniors, families and persons with mental health conditions.
As part of the campaign, I will be walking / jogging / cycling [please choose] [number] km. I hope that you can support me in my fundraising efforts by visiting my page and making a donation: [insert your campaign url]”
b) Update your campaign page
We encourage you to post updates on your page to connect with your supporters. Updates can include:
i. Screenshots of the distance covered on your walk / run / cycle. Please ensure that your screenshots do not contain any personal information.
ii. Photos of your walk / jog / cycle
iii. Messages on what motivates you to join this campaign or words of encouragement to others.
PHYSICAL WALK OR JOG EVENT
1. What are the entitlements for participants?
You will receive a Stride for Good T-shirt and a goodie bag. Goodie bags will be given on the event day.
2. Is there a bag deposit area at the venue?
There is no bag deposit area.
3. Can I bring my kids along?
Yes. You can bring along your kids as long as they are registered.
4. Will there be official photographers?
Photography and/or videography will be taken during the event for publicity purposes and BCARE reserves the right to use any photographs, motion picture, recording, or any other record of the run for any legitimate purpose.
5. Is the route friendly for participants with disabilities?
Yes it is. There are traffic junctions along the route but there will be route marshals will present to guide participants.
6. Are there any contingency plans for bad weather on the event day?
In the event of inclement weather, BCARE reserves the right to delay the commencement of the walk or jog. Should the inclement weather persist after delay, BCARE reserves the right to organise an indoor exercise session or cancel the event without any refund.
7. What if I am injured during the walk or jog, or unable to complete the run?
Please approach the nearest first aiders deployed along the race route. Participants who require immediate medical attention may alert the route marshals.
8. What safety measures do you have in place for the event?
There will be volunteers placed along the route at high congestion areas. The first aid team will be on stand-by on site. If any participant requires assistance during the race, you may approach any of the BCARE staff or volunteers for support.

T-SHIRT COLLECTION
1. Where and when do I collect my T-shirt?
For participants who register before 8 September 2024, T-shirt collection will be on 6 October 2024 at Living Sanctuary Brethren Church (2 Hougang St 22 Singapore 538728), 9.30am to 1pm.

For participants who register from 9 September to 30 November, T-shirt collection will be confirmed at a later date.

2. How will I be notified about the T-shirt collection?
You will receive an email 1-2 weeks before the collection period.
3. I am unable to make it to collect my T-shirt. Can I assign someone to collect on my behalf?
Yes, you may authorise someone to collect your T-shirt. The authorised person must submit the completed softcopy or hardcopy authorisation form on the collection day. BCARE will not release T-shirts to unauthorised person without the supporting documents.
REFUNDS​
1. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am not able to attend the physical event. Can I get a refund or find a replacement to attend on my behalf?
Unfortunately, registration fees are non-refundable and participation slots are strictly non-transferable.
